M and I started March off with a trip to Cardiff Bay last night to see Limehouse Lizzy at The Point last night. Limehouse Lizzy are one of the better Thin Lizzy tribute bands currently touring. I finally managed to make it to The Point for a gig (which is somewhat surprising considering the amount of gigs I go to!), and I'm quite impressed with the venue. The night got off to a good start - once we got there, I won't go into Cardiff Bus or the lack of it! - whilst we were at the bar, I noticed the background music was a Jeff Scott Soto track from his Yngwie Malmsteen days. The geek in me looked up the track and its from 'Rising Force' album ( I think the track is 'Now Your Ships Are Burned'). Woohoo! Back to Lizzy. They came onstage at about 9.30pm (no support) and did a 2 hour set, minus a break of about 20 mins. Opening track was (of course) Jailbreak, followed by Dancing in the Moonlight.
